WELCOME

We created RB STUDIOS with one thing in mind, a breakthrough with fabric and stitching stories inspiring creativity with unique cloth. Creative Director Tina Givens, also a veteran fabric designer is curating unique artists, quilters, and writers in preparing cohesive, extraordinary collections.
"Through a biased lens, we can create a special point
of view in fabric design. The quality of our quilting cotton is a given, but the art has to be extraordinary and able to tell a story in piecing. Texture, color palettes, scale and subject matter are taken into account when offering multiple releases at the same time." tg
Tina is a well-known artist in the quilt industry for her storytelling collections including Opal Owl, Pernilla's Journey & Chloe's Imagination, to name a few. Tina's finished apparel, sewing patterns, workshops, and a magazine called SYCHIL are sold worldwide to independent boutiques, and direct to consumers. Tina's passion has always been, to share her love for creating on and with fabric.
Powered by Midwest Textiles & Supplies with the capability to offer bolts, bundles, rolled goods to the manufacturing markets, pre-cuts, and incredible cutting technology for Ready to sew Kwik Kits.
Our Quilt Project Design team collaborates with our fabric designers to offer unique signature quilt patterns featuring our collections. Free for downloads and printed options at a nominal price for your store.
We celebrate our artists and their signature styles in design, but also very importantly, in offering inspiration to our consumers. This site is just one example we have built to inspire, share, and acknowledge our stores on a global platform.

Our services:
CUSTOM FABRIC PRINTING
Digital printing is now a norm in the textile world and with new technology and eco-friendly inks and processes we encourage this product 100%. Minimums are less than traditional printing and far less expensive. Files do not need to be separated by color except we prefer the background or ground of the fabric to be its own layer. Digital printing is well suited to all kinds of art files, including watercolor art where there is no loss of color as in traditional printing with a limit to 12-16 colors.
Traditional Printing is a formal process where files need to be separated by color in layers (limited to 12-16 colors), there is an engraving fee for each print and minimums are 2,000 or more in some cases.
FILE PREPARATION
300 DPI FILES in repeat 6,12,24,42"; Fabrics are 100% cotton 44" wide 5oz or 160grm 60x60
-
Files in repeat • PSD or AI or TIFF • RGB FILE not CMYK • Hi-resolution 300 DPI at least • Colors separated on layers for traditional engraved printing, or in 2 layers for digital, but more is better. Background or ground of file must be on its own layer.
-
Color-coded and printouts of each fabric file. Identify each color as a HEX/RGB, Pantone chips can be used for estimated color, or in traditional printing Pantones can be used for color ID.
-
If you have art and wish us to create repeat files for the mill, please contact us with your request. We can review your art and offer recommendations on how to proceed. We have in-house graphic designers to assist.
PRODUCTION PROCESS
-
Once we have color codes printouts of each print, and a complete digital files, we send to our Mill. The Mill processes the files and either starts the engraving process or goes directly to printing proofs (strike-offs) for review. We receive these Strike-Offs and make the necessary adjustments in color or art files to proceed. Strike-Offs take approximately 6-8 weeks, each may take 2 - 3 strike-offs.
-
Once approved, the Mill will proceed to print your yardage. This takes about 8 -12 weeks. You can request rolled goods or folded onto bolts.
