RB STUDIOS OFFERS A FRESH APPROACH TO QUILTING COTTON. CURATING ARTISTS FROM AROUND THE GLOBE, WE STRIVE TO BRING A VARIETY OF ART IN FLAVOR, STYLE, AND COLOR PALETTES. OUR OFFERINGS CARRY A UNIQUE PERSPECTIVE AND RANGE FROM TRADITIONAL WITH A NEW PERSPECTIVE, MODERN TAKEN FROM AN ON-TREND APPROACH TO THE MARKET, AND SIGNATURE ARTISTS WITH THEIR PERSONAL VIEWS OF THEIR WORLD. WE SUPPORT EACH OTHER IN OUR WORK AND MANAGE A TEAM OF ARTISANS, TECHNICIANS, AND MARKETING TO SUPPORT OUR COLLECTIONS.

We seek unique, curious, and flavored art for our fabric collections. Categories include traditional, novelty, modern, country, masculine, or feminine. Whether you're a hand artist, work in digital form, create collages, or hand blocks for printing we'd love to see what you got! Surprise us!

The artists we work with are passionate about their art, licensing, and growing fabric brands.

If you have a strong social media following and/or want to grow join us in collaboration. Our program offers you exposure, fabric to work with - in creating or working with existing quilt or projects. A special banner ad and feature in our quarterly magazine, The Uncommon Thread. Join our community of quilt designers, makers and teachers, authors and artists.

Mission

With unique talent and curated art from unknown to well-known artists and designers worldwide, RB STUDIOS strives to always present a fresh look at quilting by delivering great art on fabric. 

 

VISION

We created RB STUDIOS with one thing in mind, a breakthrough with fabric and stitching stories inspiring creativity with unique cloth. 

WHO WE ARE

We are a team and we are masters in our craft, whether art, creative perspective, quilt design, paper piecing, color expertise, apparel & accessory design, instruction, support, textile design & presentation or, the behind-the-scenes manufacturing, converting processes, and kitting up incredible projects.

Creative Director, Tina Givens, also a veteran fabric designer is curating unique artists, quilters, and writers in preparing cohesive, extraordinary collections. Whether you are an artist, quilt designer, quilt influencer, please get in touch!

ART SUBMISSION

SOCIAL MEDIA
PARTNERSHIP

Thank you for your interest in submitting artwork to RB STUDIOS, a division of Midwest-Textiles.  Please review the following guidelines first. Please take a moment to review our website and our collections to check if you are a fit. We focus on art that has a voice, tells a story and stands out from the rest! Do you watch ongoing trends in the home dec and quilting industry?

We are looking for artists...

  • With a portfolio of several prints so we can gauge your work as we need it to fit within our offerings.

  • Quilt and sewing projects are a great addition, but not required.

  • Enthusiastic and willing to take direction.

  • Formats preferred are in repeat, and backgrounds are separated from foreground imagery.

We will consider artwork regardless of whether it is in textile repeat or not. Please do not mail artwork. Each digital image should be labeled with name and contact information. We will also accept links to your portfolios online.

We will try to respond within 30 days of your submission. Feel free to contact us again by e-mail if you have not received a response after that time. You will be notified by e-mail. We encourage you to submit more work; many artists choose to send us images on a regular basis to keep us updated about their latest work.

After initial review, we may request high-resolution files in PSD or AI formats. We may or may not have a release date at this point.

The next stage would be to clearly spell out our mutual understanding. We do this with a partnership contract that details our rights, obligations, and payments. Once agreed to and signed, we will welcome you into our family of artists.

For experienced artists:

Please follow the formats suggested below for ease of printing:

  • All submissions should be presented in PDF format.

  • If presenting a collection, create a cover page showing the designs as you envision them working together. 

  • The cover page should be followed by each individual design on a separate page. If more than 6-10 designs, submit them in thumbnail format with no more than 4-6 thumbnails to a page. 

  • If presenting individual designs, follow all steps except the cover page instruction above.

  • If presenting colorways, include them in the same format as the cover page.

  • All collections should have a name and all designs should be labeled by name, number, or a combination of both - this will make our follow-up process easier.

  • All pages must have the necessary contact information, name, email address, telephone number, and/or address.

  • If your work is selected, we will contact you for the high-resolution files needed.

Less Experienced Artists:

Not to worry, we have a talented in-house design team who can work with your art in preparing files for fabric printing.

 

Make sure to include all your detailed information in your submission/query email including your contact information, name, email address, telephone number; And a brief bio.

Please note specific pieces of art you'd like us to focus on, either numbers or names on your website / Instagram portfolio.

​Note that we will contact you for high-resolution digital files if your work is selected. If you do not have high-resolution files of your artwork we can not use them.

Thank you for your interest in RB STUDIOS, a division of Midwest-Textiles.  We are always interested in partnering with social media influencers in the quilting arena. We'd love to work with you, by offering you fabric to work with in your quilt designs, personal sewing, articles for publications featuring your work. Think of our fabric as your medium in which to create with. On occasion we have specific projects or challenges with our pre-cuts and yardage.

 

Please review the following guidelines first. We do receive a high volume of requests, so please be patient with us in responding. Please review our website and to check your inspiration level to work with our unique collections. If one sings to you feel free to mention it. 

We are also always seeking quilt and project patterns featuring our fabrics. We can offer it on our website platform with a link to you, and articles within our emails blasts and channel streams to celebrate you. Send us a visual of the pattern you prefer and we'd be happy to respond.

We are looking for quilt designers and makers:

  • With a portfolio of no less than 6 quilt patterns.

  • A social media following for quilting and related subjects.

  • Willing to work with us in the utilization of RBS fabrics

We make this easy, so please fill out the SOCIAL MEDIA PARTNERSHIP form. We'd love to work with you!

We will try to respond within 30 days of your query. Feel free to contact us again by e-mail if you have not received a response after that time. We will contact you via email. And if it's not the right time, please continue to keep us updated on your new work.

The next stage would be to clearly spell out our mutual understanding. We do this with a partnership contract that details both our rights and obligations. Once agreed to and signed, we will welcome you into our talented community.

This is not a paid partnership, but one that can benefit you in your career path, securing exposure for your beautiful work.

Details:

  • You would submit a quilt design or project proposal for a new or existing pattern.

Perhaps it's a quilt-along on your blog or social media platform using our fabrics. Or a new quilt pattern featuring our fabrics on the cover.

  • In turn, we will feature you on our social media platforms and email blasts.

  • Placement and banner ad on our website for 90 days linking to your website / social media / you choose.

  • We create a digital magazine called The Uncommon Thread and will feature YOU!

  • On occasion, we may select a design you have not published and purchase the pattern for our free library. Naturally, this would be featured in our magazine, on the website, and feature your name as a designer.
